In my forty plus years in golf and quarter century member of the PGA, I have performed every job possible in a golf operation.
First as an assistant Professional, Head Golf Professional, Golf Director and finally General Manager positions. I was in charge of
golf course construction and golf course development for Avco Community Developers including start up of new golf operations.
I have been lucky enough to be involved in three start up operations and reconstruction of two other golf courses.

Steve Bean
Director of Golf School Operations

Steve started his golf career at the Rancho Bernardo Inn & C. C. in San Diego in 1980. In the last 39 years since Steve has taught on the
staffs of some of the worlds best golf instructors. In 1988 Steve was on staff at Derek Hardy's California Academy of Golf. Derek at the time
was and still is teacher to many LPGA stars. Derek is also a Golf Digest Top 50 Teacher in the USA. In 1994 Steve joined the Hank Haney
Golf Instructional Staff of California. Mr. Haney worked as the swing coach for Tiger Woods and many other tour players and is listed as
a Golf Digest Top 5 Instructor. In 2010 Steve was named Golf Instructor of the Year by the Professional Golf Teachers and Coaches Assn.
In the last thirty
nine years Steve has helped players of all skill levels to understand, improve and enjoy golf at a higher level.

Scott Pastor a ten year mini tour player has joined the Southern California Golf Schools staff. Scott is currently General Manager at
the Taylormade Golf Experience in Las Vegas, Nevada. Scott can help you with any golf club custom fitting you may need.
Scott started his golf career at Escondido Country Club in Escondido, California.

Sharon Flecther

Teaching Professional

Sharon, a PGA/LPGA Class A Teaching Professional, graduated from Furman University with a BA in Exercise Physiology.
Sharon has had extensive teaching experience, both domestically and abroad. She has taught at PGA National Academy of Golf
under Mike Adams and has been a life-long student of Dana Rader. Sharon will be doing both our Women's Only Golf Schools
and regular golf schools in the Palm Springs area.

Fred Arcaina
PGA Golf Professional

Fred Arcaina was born into a golfing family and has continued the tradition, currently a member of the PGA program since 1999.
He also combined military service of 22 years with his golfing career he taught and served around the world. He was a member of the
US Navy Ryder Cup Team, competed in the Orient, the Mid-East and the United States. He was a member of the All US Navy Team one
of the only 10 in his service. He has been teaching since 1982 and his command of the fundamentals combined with high energy and
Golf Schools in the San Diego area.

Tim Parun is a PGA Member that has helped golfers improve since 1988 and a top competitive golfer, earning the title of San Diego
Chapter PGA Player of the Year for 2003, '04 and '06.  He also has competed in the 2004, 2010 Buick Invitational and 2006, 2010
Nissan Opens on the PGA Tour as well as the 2010, 2012 US Senior Open. Tim's teaching philosophy emphasizes drills to improve
swing mechanics and a mental approach to "relax and react" for each shot. Tim will show you how to improve your golf game at
home as well as the golf course with quality practice time. Learn to simplify the game and create "a world of effortless energy".
Mando Vasquez
Teaching Professional

Our youngest member of the staff is Mando Vasquez.  He began playing golf at the age of 7 and began instructing new players since the age of 18.  
At 29 years old, he has experience with teaching golfers of various skill levels for over a decade.  Currently, Mando is an instructor for the Oak
Valley Golf Academy in Beaumont, Ca.  Throughout his time teaching for the Oak Valley Golf Academy, he has taught students from all over the
world.  Skill levels ranging from college bound players, to children picking up the game for the first time.  Also, he taught junior clinics at Colton
Golf Club in California for nearly 7 years.  Mando has also competed in golf tournaments at both the collegiate and professional levels. He was
a member of the Cal State University San Bernardino Men’s Golf team (2013-2014).  Also, he played at Riverside Community College earning all
conference honors in 2012.  He is a graduate of Riverside Community College with a degree in Information Systems and Technology.  Currently
he is studying at Cal State San Bernardino for a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.    
Jeff Sampson
PGA Teaching Professional

Jeff has been golfing since he was 9 years old and knew that was what he wanted to do when he grew up.   He started teaching
golf not long after he attended and graduated from The Professional Golfers Career College in 1996 where he received a
Specialized Associates Degree.

He became the Director of Instruction at Emerald Isle Golf Course in Oceanside where he taught for almost 16 years.    He then
purchased the TGA of Temecula Valley.  He owned it for 5 years where he taught junior golfers of all ages at after school classes
as well as summer camps.

He then accepted a position at The Legends Golf Club in Temecula where he not only was the Head Professional but taught the
game of golf to enthusiasts of all ages.

Jeff also taught Techniques of Teaching II and IV at the Professional Golfers Career College. He taught the prospective Golf Pros
how to teach the game of Golf. Jeff has a passion for the game and loves sharing his knowledge and experience with all he comes
in contact with.
