In my forty plus years in golf and quarter century member of the PGA, I have performed every job possible in a golf operation.
First as an assistant Professional, Head Golf Professional, Golf Director and finally General Manager positions. I was in charge of
golf course construction and golf course development for Avco Community Developers including start up of new golf operations.
I have been lucky enough to be involved in three start up operations and reconstruction of two other golf courses.

Steve Bean
Director of Golf School Operations

Steve started his golf career at the Rancho Bernardo Inn & C. C. in San Diego in 1980. In the thirty six years since Steve has taught on the
staffs of some of the worlds best golf instructors. In 1988 Steve was on staff at Derek Hardy's California Academy of Golf. Derek at the time
was and still is teacher to many LPGA stars. Derek is also a Golf Digest Top 50 Teacher in the USA. In 1994 Steve joined the Hank Haney
Golf Instructional Staff of California. Mr. Haney worked as the swing coach for Tiger Woods and many other tour players and is listed as
a Golf Digest Top 5 Instructor. In 2010 Steve was named Golf Instructor of the Year by the Professional Golf Teachers and Coaches Assn.
In the last thirty seven years Steve has helped players of all skill levels to understand, improve and enjoy golf at a higher level.

Sharon Flecther

Teaching Professional

Sharon, a PGA/LPGA Class A Teaching Professional, graduated from Furman University with a BA in Exercise Physiology.
Sharon has had extensive teaching experience, both domestically and abroad. She has taught at PGA National Academy of Golf
under Mike Adams and has been a life-long student of Dana Rader. Sharon will be doing both our Women's Only Golf Schools
and regular golf schools in the Palm Springs area.










Sean Lanyi

Sean Lanyi is a PGA Golf Professional based in Yorba Linda, California. Sean is a TaylorMade - Adidas Staff Member, Matrix Golf
Advisory Staff Member, and supporter of Roy Khoury and the Fit Fix Studio.  Sean is a Certified US Kids Golf Instructor and Top 50 Kids
Instructor.  Sean mentored and taught under the guidance of Mike Malaska, Jerry King, Stan Utley, Jim Waldron and was influenced by
Jim Flick and Jack Nicklaus.  Sean taught at the Kapalua Golf Academy, Ko Olina Golf Academy, PGA Tour Academies and the Nicklaus
Academy of Golf before relocating to Black Gold Golf Club.  Sean currently works with top ranked juniors, collegiate players as well as

Sean's approach towards teaching golf begins with the player better understanding their tendencies.  Sean works quickly and
accurately in order to diagnose the root cause for the player's inconsistency.  Based on the player's learning patterns, Sean will clarify
why their tendencies occur. Through an initial assessment and lesson with Sean, he will evaluate the players overall physical and
mental conditioning and build a personalized lesson plan structured to improve their game. By learning proper practice habits,
mastering the basic fundamentals will lead to a more efficient overall golf game.

Fred Arcaina
PGA Golf Professional

Fred Arcaina was born into a golfing family and has continued the tradition, currently a member of the PGA program since 1999.
He also combined military service of 22 years with his golfing career he taught and served around the world. He was a member of the
US Navy Ryder Cup Team, competed in the Orient, the Mid-East and the United States. He was a member of the All US Navy Team one
of the only 10 in his service. He has been teaching since 1982 and his command of the fundamentals combined with high energy and Golf
Schools in the San Diego area.

A golf professional since 1976 and a member of the PGA since 1981, Tim has taught golf to students in Northern and Southern California. His resume
includes teaching at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex in Sacramento, recognized multiple times as a leader in the golf industry for its instruction and
merchandising arenas. Tim also taught at The Harmon Club, a state-of-the-art teaching complex in Rockland, Massachusetts. Tim has received
